Jean Sariano

Born May 30th, 1943 in Oran, Algeria. Jean Sariano attended the School of Beaux-Arts of Oran the School of Beaux-Arts of Clermont-Ferrand, the School of Beaux-Arts in Paris, Pratt Graphic Center, New York, and finished his studies at the Printmaking Workshop, in New York in 1970. The contemporary pop characters of Jean Sariano's work are bright and alive, filled with spirit, reflecting the refreshing view of the young. Jean Sariano has participated in numerous group exhibitions at universities, museums, and galleries, throughout the United States and Europe. He began in 1962 participating in the Salon des Arts Bourbonnais, Vichy, France then went on to take part in the Quatrieme Biennale de Paris, Museum of Modern Art, Paris, 1965: "Atelier Castle", at the Maison des Beaux-Arts, Paris, 1967; Biennale Internationale de l'Estampe et de la Gravure, Museum of Modern Art, Paris, 1968, 1970, 1972; the Ferdinand Roten traveling show 1972-1973; and the Biennale Internationale de l'Estampe, Musee Galliera, Paris 1973. In 1982 he participated in the Symposium de Hecho in Spain. In 1966 Soriano held a one-man show, "Soriano et le Velo," at Maison des Beaux-Arts, Paris. Then in 1971, he held two more one-man shows at New York University, NYC and Harry G. Strong Gallery, Ellsworth, Maine.
